Pursuant to Michigan Court Rule 1.110, all financial obligations (fines, costs, and restitution) must be paid in full on the date of sentencing.
If you have been charged with a criminal offense(s), you must pay all your fees and assessments in full on the date of your sentencing if you are convicted of the crime or else you may be ordered to go to jail.
The following is a list of approximate fines and costs for common first offense misdemeanors:
Disorderly Person - Drunk $630.00
Domestic Violence $930.00
Driving While License Suspended $375.00
Impaired Driving $1,135.00

NSF - less than $100 $450.00
Retail Fraud - 3rd degree $500.00
Minor in Possession (MIP) $350.00

All other fees, for offenses not listed above, will be determined by the probation officer during the pre-sentence investigation overview. In addition to fines, costs, and fees, restitution and court appointed attorney fees may be ordered. Also, the District Court Clerk's Office accepts credit cards, in-county checks, cash, or money orders.
Court-ordered fees are your highest priority bill. For this reason, you must make financial arranegments to pay your fees in full on the day of assessment.
